"Our vendor put us on notice that they would no longer take it from us, so the only other location to take that (material) was the landfill," Rice said.īut recently, RWL Recycling reached out to the city with an offer to accept clean cardboard. The policy went into effect at the end of January. It stopped recycling cardboard and paper earlier this year, "primarily because there was no place for (them) to go," Rice said. In 2019, the city stopped accepting plastic and glass, citing changes in the recycling market. ![]()
